English

Amr ibn al-As narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent for me, saying: “Gather your weapons and clothes, then come to me.” I came while he was performing ablution. He said: “O Amr, I am sending you on a mission, that Allah may grant you safety and spoils. I hope for you a good share of wealth.” I said: “O Messenger of Allah, my migration was not for wealth, but for Allah and His Messenger.” He said: “How excellent is righteous wealth for a righteous man.” [Narrated in Sharh al-Sunnah] Ahmad narrated similarly, and in his narration: “How excellent is righteous wealth for a righteous man.”
