Abu Usayd As-Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: While we were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), a man from Banu Salamah came and said: “O Messenger of Allah, is there any righteousness left for my parents after their death?” He said: “Yes, praying for them, seeking forgiveness for them, fulfilling their covenants after them, maintaining ties with kin only through them, and honoring their friends.”
