English

Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The Fire was shown to me, and I saw in it a woman from the Children of Israel being punished for a cat she tied up, neither feeding it nor letting it eat from the vermin of the earth until it died of hunger. And I saw Amr ibn Amir Al-Khuza‘i dragging 1 his intestines in the Fire, and he was the first to let loose the grazing animals.”

Note 1

dragging his intestines in the Fire

(1) His statement: “dragging his intestines in the Fire” – perhaps the Prophet (ﷺ) was shown the rest of what he was punished for in the Fire. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

Note 1

قوله

(۱) قوله: يجر قصبه في النار: لعل النبي ﷺ كوشف من سائر ما كان يعاقب به في النار. كذا في «المرقاة».
