سیدنا ابو واقد لیثی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ
صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب غزوہ حنین کیلئے نکلے، مشرکین کے ایک درخت کے پاس سے آپ کا گزر
ہوا جس پر وہ لوگ اپنے ہتھیار لٹکاتے تھے اسکو ”ذات انواط“ کہا جاتا تھا انہوں نے (صحابہ)
نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ہمارے لئے بھی ایک ذات انواط مقرر کر دیجئے جیسا کہ ان
کیلئے ذات انواط ہے، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: سبحان اللہ یہ بات ویسے ہی ہے
جیسا موسیٰ علیہ السلام کی قوم نے کہی تھی، ہم، ہمارے لئے ایک معبود بنادو جیسے ان کے معبود ہیں اور
قسم ہے اس ذات کی جس کے دست قدرت میں میری جان ہے! تم ضرور ان کے طور طریقوں پر
چلو گے جو تم سے پہلے تھے۔ (ترمذی)۔
