A’isha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that a Jewish woman entered upon her and mentioned the punishment of the grave. A’isha said to her, “May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave.” Then A’isha asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about the punishment of the grave, and he said, “Yes, the punishment of the grave is real.” A’isha said, “After that, I never saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) pray without seeking refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave.”

١٢١ - وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ (رضي الله عنها): أَنَّ يَهُوْدِيَّةً دَخَلْتَ عَلَيْهَا ، فَذَكَرَتْ عَذَابَ الْقَبْرِ، فَقَالَتْ لَهَا: أَعَاذَكِ اللهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ. فَسَأَلَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، فَقَالَ: «نَعَمْ، عَذَابُ الْقَبْرِ حَقٌّ». قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: فَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ ﷺ بَعْدَهُ صَلَّى صَلَاةً إِلَّا تَعَوَّذَ بِاللهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ. مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.

آئی اور عذاب قبر کا ذکر کی اور کہی: اللہ آپ کو عذاب قبر سے محفوظ رکھے، عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے
آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عذاب قبر سے متعلق دریافت کیا تو آپ نے فرمایا: ہاں قبر کا عذاب حق
ہے، عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا فرماتی ہیں کہ اس کے بعد میں نے آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا کہ جب
بھی آپ نماز ادا فرماتے تو عذاب قبر سے پناہ مانگتے۔ (بخاری اور مسلم نے بالاتفاق اس کی روایت کی ہے)۔
