It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "I have been commanded to prostrate on seven bones: the forehead, the nose, the two hands, the two knees, and the two feet. And we are not to gather our hair or clothes." [Narrated by Al-Nasa’i]
Al-Ayni said in Al-Binayah: "In some chains of the Hadith of Ibn Abbas, it is mentioned: 'The Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded to prostrate on seven bones: the forehead or the nose.' This clarifies that the forehead and the nose are intended to be counted as one, to avoid making them eight."

١٢٤٧ - وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ (رضي الله عنه): أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: «أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَسْجُدَ عَلَى سَبْعَةٍ، لَا أَكُفُ الشَّعْرَ وَلَا الثَّيَابَ الْجَبْهَةِ وَالْأَنْفِ وَالْيَدَيْنِ وَالرُّكْبَتَيْنِ وَالْقَدَمَيْنِ». رَوَاهُ النسائي.
قَالَ الْعَيْنِيُّ فِي الْبِنَايَةِ»: فِي بَعْضِ طُرُقِ حَدِيْثِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ها: «أَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ يَسْجُدَ عَلَى سَبْعَةِ أَعْظُم: الْجَبْهَةِ أَوِ الْأَنْفِ، فَهَذَا هُوَ الْمُرَادِ مِنْ ذِكْرِ الْجَبْهَةِ وَالْأَنْفِ فِي الرَّوَايَةِ السَّابِقَةِ لِئَلَّا تَصِيرَ ثَمَانِيَةً.

فرمایا: مجھے حکم ملا ہے کہ میں نماز میں ان سات ہڈیوں کو زمین پر ٹیک کر سجدہ کیا کروں اور نماز میں
(مٹی لگنے کے خوف سے) بالوں اور کپڑوں کو نہ تو سمیٹوں اور نہ سنبھالوں (سات ہڈیاں یہ ہیں)
پیشانی اور ناک، دونوں ہاتھوں کے پنجے اور دونوں گھٹنے اور دونوں پاؤں کی انگلیاں۔
