Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) performed qunut for one month, supplicating against the tribes of Usayyah and Dhakwan. When he overcame them, he abandoned qunut.

١٦٩٣ - وَعَنْهُ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: قَنَتَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ شَهْرًا دَعَا عَلَى عُصَيَّةَ وَذَكْوَانَ، فَلَمَّا ظَهَرَ عَلَيْهِمْ تَرَكَ الْقُنُوْتَ. رَوَاهُ الْبَيْهَقِيُّ وَالْبَزَّارُ وَأَبُو يَعْلَى الْمُوْصِلِيُّ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ».
