Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Abu Talhah was the wealthiest among the Ansar in Madinah in terms of palm trees, and the dearest of his properties to him was Bayruha’, which was facing the mosque. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to enter it and drink from its good water. Anas said: When the verse You will not attain righteousness until you spend from what you love (Al-Imran 3:92) was revealed, Abu Talhah went to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, Allah says: You will not attain righteousness until you spend from what you love (Al-Imran 3:92), and the dearest of my wealth to me is Bayruha’. It is a charity for Allah, and I hope for its reward and treasure with Allah. Place it, O Messenger of Allah, where Allah shows you." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Well done! That is a profitable wealth. I have heard what you said about it, and I think you should give it to your relatives." Abu Talhah said, "I will do so, O Messenger of Allah." So Abu Talhah distributed it among his relatives and cousins.
