Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent us (the young boys of Banu Abdul-Muttalib) ahead from Muzdalifah at night on donkeys. He patted our thighs and said: 'O my young ones! Do not stone the Jamrah until the sun rises.'"

(1) "On donkeys": In Al-Bahr al-Ra'iq, it is stated that riding camels is preferable, while riding pack animals is disliked. This indicates the recommendation of better alternatives. (Al-Maraqi)

(2) "O my young ones": The word is pronounced with a dammah on the hamzah, fathah on the ba', and kasrah on the nun. It is a term of endearment for a group.
