Umar ibn Abdul-Aziz narrated that Umar ibn Al-Khattab sent Ya‘la ibn Umayyah to Yemen, ordering him to give them white land: if cattle, seed, and tools are from Umar, he gets two-thirds, they one-third; if from them, Umar gets half, they half. He ordered giving them palms and vines, with Umar taking two-thirds, they one-third. [Narrated by As-Sahawi]. .
