Salim reported from his father (Ibn Umar) that he would stone the nearest pillar with seven pebbles, saying Allahu Akbar after each, then move forward to an open area, face the Qiblah, stand for a long time raising his hands in supplication. Then he would stone the middle pillar similarly, then take the left path to stone the last pillar from the valley bottom without stopping there. Then he would depart saying: "This is how I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) do it."
