Note 1

A woman is married—Al-Qurtubi said

(1) The statement: A woman is married—Al-Qurtubi said: The meaning of the hadith is that these four qualities are what attract people to marry a woman, not that it commands doing so. Its apparent meaning permits marriage for any of these reasons, but seeking religion is preferable. He said: It should not be thought that these four qualities define compatibility, as no one has claimed they are exhaustive, though scholars differed on what compatibility entails. This is stated in Umdat Al-Qari.
