Abu Umama (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Umar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) wore a new garment and said: Praise be to Allah Who has clothed me with what I cover my private parts and adorn myself in my life. Then he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Whoever wears a new garment and says: Praise be to Allah Who has clothed me with what I cover my private parts and adorn myself in my life, then takes the worn-out garment and gives it in charity, he will be in Allah’s protection, care, and cover, alive and dead.
