Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Adhere to truthfulness, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man continues to be truthful and strive for truth until he is recorded with Allah as a truthful one. Beware of lying, for lying leads to immorality, and immorality leads to the Fire. A man continues to lie and strive for falsehood until he is recorded with Allah as a liar.” [Agreed Upon]
In a narration by Muslim: “Truthfulness is righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. Lying is immorality, and immorality leads to the Fire.”
