Chapter on Boasting and Fanaticism

Zujajat al-Masabih 4699Volume 4

English

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “People who boast about their deceased ancestors—who are but fuel for Hell—must cease, or they will be more insignificant to Allah than the beetle that rolls dung with its nose. Allah has removed from you the arrogance of the pre-Islamic era and its boasting about ancestors. One is either a God-conscious believer or a wretched sinner. All people are children of Adam, and Adam was from dust.”
