Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Three are saving qualities, and three are destructive: As for the saving qualities: fearing Allah in private and public, speaking the truth in pleasure and displeasure, and moderation in wealth and poverty. As for the destructive qualities: a followed desire, obeyed greed, and a person’s admiration of himself, which is the worst of them.”

٤٩١٤ - وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ (رضي الله عنه) أَنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: «ثَلاثُ مُنَجِّيَاتٌ وَثَلاثُ مُهْلِكَاتٌ، فَأَمَّا الْمُنَجِّيَاتُ: فَتَقْوَى اللهِ فِي السِّرِّ وَالْعَلانِيَةِ، وَالْقَوْلُ بِالْحَقِّ فِي الرِّضَا وَالسَّخَطِ، وَالْقَصْدُ فِي الْغِنَى وَ الْفَقْرِ. وَأَمَّا الْمُهْلِكَاتُ فَهَوًى مُتَّبَعُ وَشُحٌ مُطَاعٌ ، وَإِعْجَابُ الْمَرْءِ بِنَفْسِهِ، وَهِيَ أَشَدُّهُنَّ». رَوَاهُ الْبَيْهَقِيُّ فِي شُعَبِ الْإِيْمَانِ».

سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم
نے فرمایا: تین چیزیں نجات دینے والی ہیں اور تین چیزیں ہلاک کرنے والی ہیں، پس نجات دینے
والی چیزیں پوشیدہ طور پر علانیہ طور پر اللہ کا تقوی، خوشی اور ناراضگی میں حق بات بولنا اور مالداری
اور تنگدستی میں میانہ روی اختیار کرنا، اور ہلاک کرنے والی چیزیں وہ خواہش نفس ہے جس کی پیروی
کی جائے، بخیلی ہے جس کی فرمانبرداری کی جائے اور آدمی کا اپنے آپ کو اچھا سمجھنا ہے، اور یہ ان
