Mu’awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he visited his uncle Abu Hashim ibn Utbah to check on him, and Abu Hashim wept. He asked: “What makes you weep, O uncle? Is it pain troubling you or greed for the world?” He replied: “No, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) advised us with a counsel I did not follow.” He asked: “What was that?” He said: “I heard him say: ‘It is enough for you to gather wealth for a servant and a mount in the path of Allah,’ and I see that I have gathered.”
