Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: “Inform me about who 1 will endure standing on the Day of Resurrection, about which Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, said: ‘The Day when people will stand before the Lord of the worlds’ [Al-Mutaffifin: 6].” He said: “It will be lightened 2 for the believer until it is like the prescribed prayer.”
Commentary and footnotes (4)
Note 1
(1) His statement: “Who will endure standing”: Meaning standing for reckoning before Allah. His statement: “About which Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, said” refers to the Day of Resurrection. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)
Note 2
(2) His statement: “It will be lightened for the believer, etc.”: The implication is that it becomes easy for believers, either in quantity, quality, or both, to the extent that for some, it is like an hour, for those who treated this world as an hour and earned obedience in it. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)
Note 1
