Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Ja’far loved the poor, sat with them, spoke to them, and they spoke to him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gave him the kunyah Abu al-Masakin (Father of the Poor).

٥٩٣٨ – وَعَنْهُ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: كَانَ جَعْفَرُ يُحِبُّ الْمَسَاكِينَ وَيَجْلِسُ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَيُحَدِّثُهُمْ وَيُحَدِّثُونَهُ، وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَكْنِيهِ بِأَبِي الْمَسَاكِينِ. رَوَاهُ التَّرْمِذِيُّ.

اللہ علیہ وسلم ان کو ”ابوالمساکین“ کنیت سے بلاتے تھے۔ (ترمذی)
