Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) visited me while I was ill and said: Have you made a bequest? I said: Yes. He said: For how much? I said: For all my wealth in the way of Allah. He said: What have you left for your children? I said: They are wealthy with goodness. He said: Bequeath one-tenth. I kept reducing it until he said: Bequeath one-third, and one-third is much.
