It is narrated from Uqbah ibn Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "A silk cloak was gifted to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he wore it and prayed in it. Then he took it off forcefully, as if he disliked it, and said: 'This is not suitable for the pious.'"

ف: واضح ہو کہ حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا ریشمی قبا پہن کر ناگواری کا اظہار فرمانا اس زمانہ کا واقعہ ہے جب کہ مردوں کیلئے ریشم پہننے کی حرمت کا حکم ابھی نہیں آیا تھا لیکن جب حکم آ گیا تو مردوں کیلئے ریشم کا پہننا حرام ہو گیا خواہ متقی ہوں یا غیر متقی۔(مرقات،اشعۃ اللمعات)۔
