It is narrated from Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that we were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and he raised his gaze towards the sky, then said: "This is a time when knowledge will be taken away from the people, so that they will not be able to find any of it."

٢٢٨ - وَعَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ فَشَخَصَ بِبَصْرِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «هَذَا أَوَانٌ يُخْتَلَسُ فِيْهِ الْعِلْمُ مِنَ النَّاسِ، حَتَّى لَا يَقْدِرُوْا مِنْهُ عَلَى شَيْءٍ». رَوَاهُ التَّرْمِذِيُّ.

ابودرداء رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم آنحضرت صلی
اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ تھے، اتنے میں آسمان کی جانب آپ نے نگاہ اٹھائی اور فرمایا: وہ وقت آ گیا ہے
کہ لوگوں سے علم وحی (میری وفات کی وجہ سے) چھین لیا جائے گا۔ نتیجہ یہ ہوگا کہ وہ علم وحی کی کسی شئے پر
قادر نہ ہوں گے، اس وجہ سے کہ (میرے بعد کوئی نبی نہیں ہے) (اس کی روایت ترمذی نے کی ہے۔)
