Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Every significant matter not begun with praise is defective." Narrated by Ibn Majah. In a narration by Abu Dawud from Ismail ibn Ibrahim, from a man of Banu Sulaym, he said: I proposed to the Prophet (ﷺ) for Ummamah bint Abdul Muttalib, and he married me to her without reciting tashahhud.

ف:۔ واضح ہو کہ حدیث شریف میں ہر اچھے کام کو اللہ تعالیٰ کی حمد و ثناء سے شروع کرنے کی فضیلت کا ذکر ہے۔ بعض دوسری روایتوں میں حمد کی بجائے اللہ کا ذکر یا ”بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم“ بھی پڑھا جا سکتا ہے جیسا کہ مرقات اور اشعۃ اللمعات میں مذکور ہے۔
