Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Differ from the polytheists, let your beards grow, 3 and shave your mustaches. In another narration: Remove your mustaches completely and let your beards grow [Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim]. As for the narration: Trim the mustache, it means: Remove the mustache hair with scissors, not a razor, as that is an innovation.

٤٣٠٠ - وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رضي الله عنهما قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صلي الله عليه واله وسلم : (خَالِفُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ، وَفَرُوا 3اللَّحَى وَأَحْفُوا الشَّوَارِبَ).
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ:(انْهَكُوا الشَّوَارِبَ وَأَعْفُوا اللَّحَى). مُتَفَقُّ عَلَيْهِ
وَأُمَّا رِوَايَةُ: قَصُّ الشَّارِبِ، فَمَعْنَاهَا: اسْتَأْصِلُوا شَعْرَ الشَّارِبِ بِالْمِقْرَاضِ لَا بِالْمَوْسَىفَإِنَّهُ بِدْعَةً.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے
فرمایا مشرکین کی مخالفت کرو داڑھیاں 1 بڑھاؤ، اور مونچھیں کم کرو۔
اور ایک روایت میں ہے مونچھیں مبالغہ کے ساتھ کترواؤ اور داڑھیاں
بڑھاؤ۔ (متفق علیہ)
