Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “A man will emerge from beyond the river, called Al-Harith ibn Harrath, led by 1 a man called Mansur. He will prepare 2 or enable for the family of Muhammad, as Quraysh enabled for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). It is incumbent upon every believer to support him 3,” or he said: “to respond to him.”

٥٢٤٩ - وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ ﷺ: يَخْرُجُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ وَرَاءِ النَّهْرِ يُقَالُ لَهُ: الْحَارِثُ بْنُ حَرَّاثَ عَلَى1 مُقَدِّمَتِهِ رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ: مَنْصُورٌ، يوطن2 أَوْ يُمَكِّنُ لِآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا مَكَّنَتْ قُرَيْشٌ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَجَبَ عَلَى كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ نَصْرُهُ 3 أَوْ قَالَ: «إِجَابَتُهُ». رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ.

نے فرمایا: ”ماوراء النہر“ سے ایک صاحب نکلیں گے ان کو حارث کہا جاتا ہے وہ کسان ان ان کے
لشکر کے سامنے کے حصہ پر ایک شخص ہوگا جسکو منصور کہا جاتا ہے2، وہ آل محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اس
طرح جگہ دیں گے3 جس طرح قریش نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو جگہ دی تھی ہر مومن پر اس کی
مدد کرنا4 ضروری ہے یا آپ نے فرمایا: اسکی بات قبول کرنا ضروری ہے۔(ابوداؤد)۔

(1) His statement: “led by a man called Mansur”: It is narrated from Khwaja Ubaydullah Samarqandi Naqshbandi (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: Mansur is Al-Khidr, and such a statement from him would only come through transmission or spiritual insight. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

(2) His statement: “prepare or enable for the family of Muhammad” means for his descendants and household in general, or the Mahdi specifically. Alternatively, “family” is additional, meaning Muhammad the Mahdi. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

(3) His statement: “support him” means supporting Al-Harith, which is the apparent meaning, or supporting Mansur, which is more profound, or supporting either of them, or the Mahdi, given the context, as their support is for the people of their lands and those they pass by, as they are among the Mahdi’s supporters.
