English

Narrated by Abd al-Jabbar ibn Wa'il, from his father: "He saw the Prophet, peace be upon him, raise his hands upon starting the prayer until his thumbs were parallel to his earlobes." [Narrated by Al-Nasa’i] A similar narration is narrated by Abu Dawud. Al-Hakim in Al-Mustadrak, Al-Daraqutni, and Al-Bayhaqi in his Sunan reported a similar narration from Anas, may Allah be pleased with him. Al-Hakim said, "Its chain is authentic according to the conditions of Al-Bukhari and Muslim, and I know of no flaw in it." In a narration by Abu Dawud, Al-Nasa’i, At-Tabarani, Al-Daraqutni, and Muslim from Wa'il ibn Hujr: "I saw the Prophet, peace be upon him, raise his hands to the level of his ears when starting the prayer."
