Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: A man said: O Messenger of Allah, we were in a house where our numbers and wealth were many, then moved to a house where our numbers and wealth decreased. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Leave it, it is bad [Narrated by Abu Dawud].
In another narration by Yahya bin Abdullah bin Bahir: Farwah bin Musayk said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, we have a land called Abyan, our fertile land and provision, but its air is harmful. He said: Leave it, for from pestilence comes destruction.
Ali Al-Qari said: This is not about contagion or omens but medicine, as pure air greatly aids health, and corrupt air quickly causes illness.

ملا علی قاری رحمہ اللہ الباری کہتے ہیں: یہ بات بیماری کے متعدی ہونے اور بدفالی کی قبیل سے نہیں ہے۔ بلکہ یہ تو علاج و معالجہ کی قبیل سے ہے۔ کیونکہ ہوا کی خوش گواری تندرستی کے لئے سب سے زیادہ معاون چیزوں میں سے ہے۔ اور ہوا کی خرابی بیماریوں کو بہت جلد لانے والی چیزوں میں سے ہے۔
